
Everything To Know About The End Of Daylight Savings Time In Michigan
While the weather for most of this fall has been unseasonably warm, the one thing that hasn't changed is how the days are getting shorter and shorter. Now that the sun is setting before 7 p.m. every night, the gloom of early nights is getting eerily close.
So, when will we at least get an extra hour of sleep out of this deal, and what are the chances that daylight savings time could soon be a thing of the past?
When Do We Return To Standard Time?
This year, Michiganders will be turning their clocks back an hour on November 2nd, the first Sunday of November. While most clocks perform the time change on their own these days, if you're like me and still rocking a classic alarm clock, you're going to want to set your clock one hour back. The change itself takes place at 3 am, so your clock will go from 2:59 am back to 2 am.
Will Michigan Get Ever Get Rid Of Time Changes?
It seems like every year the question of "When is Michigan getting rid of time changes?" comes up, and the answer remains the same: no one knows. President Donald Trump has implied he is for getting rid of Daylight Savings as recently as April. However, it has not seen any real traction in the House of Representatives or the Senate.

On a state level, the last time a bill was introduced to ban Daylight Savings Time was in 2021, but the bill died while in the Senate. Currently, Arizona and Hawaii are the only states that stay in Standard Time year-round.
