However, one spot did pop up in 2020 and it quickly became one of the top-reviewed spots in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. While this sounds like a modern success story in every way, there's one problem: the "restaurant" is a literal dumpster. I don't mean that figuratively, I mean it is actually a dumpster.

Dubbed the "Dumpster Water Grill", this dumpster in Marquette, Michigan has become a local sensation since the listing for the dumpster appeared on Google Reviews. Since then, it has become a running gag for people to visit this unassuming red dumpster located at 136.5 W Washington St. and treat it like a World-Class eatery.

The Dumpster Water Grill as it appears on Google Reviews currently sports a remarkable 4.7 Stars, with 302 reviews. Visitors to the DWG praise the joint for its "incredible food", "nice staff", and generous hours (it is open 24/7). While some say the food can be pricey, most visitors unanimously agree the food is well worth the price. All very funny and in good nature.

The gag for this fake restaurant has gone so far that someone has created an entire website and fake menu with specials like the "Deconstructed SteelCase Desk w/ Milkfat Aoli" or the "Mixed Berries Suspended in Hot Dog Water Gelatin" made with DWG signature Dumpster Water™.

For whatever reason, Google Reviews has not taken the listing down and hopefully won't anytime soon. People frequent the spot, some people full convinced the spot is real, but most are in on the joke. Either way, The Dumpster Water Grill is a must-visit location.
