Billing itself as Michigan's largest European Christmas Village, Christlkind Markt is back for a second year. It will open later this month.

Christlkindl Markt Returns to the Grand Rapids Downtown Market in 2024
Christkindl Markt returns to the Grand Rapids Downtown Market at 425 Ionia Ave. SW November 15, 2024.
The open-air Christmas Village is lined with more than 60 artisan gift and food vendors, live holiday entertainment, and festive family fun.
Inspired by traditional European Markets, it's a wonderland filled with unique Christmas experiences illuminated with international flair! Plus explore the Downtown Market's more than 20 vendors inside.
I went with my family last year and some favorites were the Glühwein and Raclette. My nieces loved that they could roast marshmallows and make their own s'mores!

At Grand Rapids' Christmas Market you'll find:
- Handmade gifts
- Live holiday entertainment
- Interactive artisan booths
- Curling sessions (make a reservation here)
- Traditional Christmas Market fare
- Glühwein and other hot beverages
- European-style beer hall
- Holiday lights and décor
- Santa, caroling, and other fun festivities

Vendors at Grand Rapids Christkindl Markt 2024
This year, food vendors include:
- One Stop Coney Shop, serving up brats and Belgian Fries.
- Baked Cheese Haus, serving up Alpine-style melted raclette served overtop a baguette and accompanied by hand-selected charcuterie and accoutrement.
- Crepes by the Lakes Food Truck, serving up sweet and savory crepes, including Nutella + Fruit, Turkey Havarti, and Berry Lemon.
- Olly's Donuts, serving warm mini donuts with topping like maple bacon and salted caramel.
- Brewery Vivant offers sweet and savory Bavarian pretzels with dips plus homemade root beer.
- Batter Up waffles will serve rich, sweet Liege Waffles, both sweet and savory.
- The Nuts Guys offers soft pretzels and roasted nuts.
- Squibb serves up traditional raclette melted over a baguette or potatoes.
- Outlaw Roasted Corn, offering corn on the cob an giant potatoes.
- Juju Bird, serving Belgian Frites
- Pierogies Factory serving traditional polish cuisine including kielbasa and cabbage rolls
- Greek to Go, offering spinach pies, baklava, and more.
- Rotating menu of soup in bread bowls.
Christkindl Markt is packed with plenty of of giftable goods including Alpaca fleece accessories, pottery and ornaments, spices and teas, Scandinavian products, German Christmas favorites, candles, skin care, wreaths, jewelry, honey products, perfume, puzzles, pastries, and more.

What's New at Grand Rapids Christkindl Markt in 2024?
New this year, reserve a private, heated Alpenglobe. With room for eight people, you can enjoy panoramic Christmas views along with food and beverage add-ons. Come and go as you please. Reservations are for three hours.
The market has multiple alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverage options with commemorative glasses you can purchase.
In addition to Glühwein, hot cocoa, and cider, you will now be able to get a commemorative glass filled with Egg Nog!
Also new: The first ever Christkindl Markt Bubbles Bar, serving up Champagne in the second floor Greenhouse.
When is Grand Rapids Christmas Market Open?
Christkindl Markt runs opens Friday, Nov. 15 and runs through Dec. 23, 2024.
Hours are Wednesday through Thursday 11a.m. to 7p.m, Friday 11a.m. to 9p.m., Saturday 10a.m. to 9p.m., and Sunday 10a.m. to 7p.m.
Special hours:
11/27: 10a.m. to 5p.m.
11/28: Closed
