The Grand Rapids area has said goodbye to another restaurant.

Not too long ago we told you that Jody's in Rockford and Pide and Stick on Bridge Street in GR had shut their doors.

Now, MLive is reporting that Black Rock Bar & Grill in Woodland Mall in Kentwood is permanently closed.

I'm sad about this because I really liked Black Rock! Any place where you can cook your own food is my jam.

So at Black Rock, guests have the option to cook their own steaks on a 755-degree volcanic stone. The chain claims this method of "hot rock cooking" is "the newest phenomenon in the culinary world." Choose from Filet, New York Strip, Ribeye, or Sirloin.

Other menu options include Lamb chops, soup, salad, burgers, sandwiches, and seafood like Coconut Shrimp, Salmon, and Mahi Mahi.

The Michigan-based chain still has restaurants in Novi, Hartland, Canton, Utica, Novi, Ann Arbor, Davison, Portage, along with two in Ohio, two in Florida, and one in Maryland.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the chain shuttered another Michigan location (Woodhaven) in September.

Black Rock Bar and Grill first opened at Woodland Mall in 2021.
