Not sure how accurate this will be, considering we all have different insurance plans...which don't usually cover much.

There's a new law on the books for 2019 that requires hospitals to list their prices online. Think of it like a menu at a restaurant...kind of.

Basically, you can shop around prices for procedures. The problem is...we all have different insurance plans, so whether or not a procedure is covered is questionable.

Another problem is that the cost listed may differ from the actual "transaction" cost, which is what the patient is charged.

Anybody else find it fascinating that we know how much a cheeseburger costs at McDonald's, but nobody can tell us how much an emergency room visit will cost?
