It Is a Powerful Night With Hamilton at DeVos Performance Hall

Hamilton, the incredible Broadway show now playing in DeVos Performance Hall for the next three weeks, is one of, if not the most, powerful shows you will ever see on stage. You'll leave the theatre exhausted, exhilarated, and in a state of WOW!

I saw the performance Wednesday night with a packed house, and nobody left disappointed.

The musical tells the story of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton through music that draws heavily from hip hop, as well as R&B, pop, soul, and traditional-style show tunes; the show also incorporates color-conscious casting of non-white actors as the Founding Fathers and other historical figures.Through this use of modern storytelling methods, Hamilton has been described as being about "America then, as told by America now."

With it's inspired cast and ensemble, one of the most top-notch ensembles I've seen, the show moves at a sometimes frenzied pace, and if you don't keep up, you may get lost. But, every moment is worth it.
