Internationally Famed American Pianist to Perform at St. Cecilia
Internationally acclaimed American Pianist and Conductor Jeffery Kahane is coming to St. Cecilia Music Center in Grand Rapids with members of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center on Thursday, May 3rd.
Kahane, who is recognized by audiences around the world for his repertoire from Bach to Gershwin, will bring members of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, with him, Peter Kolkay, bassoon; William Purvis, horn; David Shifrin, clarinet; and Stephen Taylor, oboe. They will perform music by Mozart, Chopin, and Poulenc as well as more contemporary composers.
Kahane is coming to Grand Rapids in collaboration with the Gilmore Keyboard Festival. However, this performance is also very special as it leads into St. Cecilia's new partnership with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center in the 2012/2013 season.”
The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (CMS) in February 2012 announced that St. Cecilia Music Center will become their new partner in the upcoming 2012 / 2013 season when CMS Artist Directors, David Finckel and Wu Han become the new artist directors of St. Cecilia’s Chamber Music Series bringing Lincoln Center musicians to St. Cecilia’s Royce Auditorium stage as the chamber music series for 2012-13. This partnership will establish a closer relationship with chamber musicians worldwide due to the New York based Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, which is recognized internationally as the premier reperatory company of chamber music.
You can buy single tickets for Jeffrey Kahane for $35 and $30, with student tickets at $10. There will be a complimentary post-concert reception to meet the artists. In addition, St. Cecilia will offer a pre-concert recption for $15 that includes wine and hour d'oeuvres.
