Soon we'll have to had "axe throwing" to the list of things to do in Grand Rapids.

Wood TV 8 reports that Target Axe Throwing is set to open on March 16 on Plainfield Avenue near 4 Mile Road.

It's in the same building as the Escape Michigan escape room, and owned by the same people.

How does it all work?

Honestly, it sounds like darts...

You throw an ax and get points based on where it lands on the target.

What about safety?

Target Axe Throwing says lanes are divided by fencing and those participating get lessons first. Also, no alcohol is allowed and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

The cost is $100 for groups of up to 10 people.

Starting March 16, Target Axe Throwing is open Thursdays through Sundays.
