How To Identify And Control Michigan Weeds

At the risk of offending PETA, we've put together a guide to help you identify and eliminate weeds commonly found in West Michigan.

Identification is key.  Knowing what you're battling makes a big difference.  What controls one weed may not control another.

Michigan State provides us with a number of ways to identify weeds:

• Enter your zip code to see what's emerging.
• Enter the weed's characteristics to begin to identify.
• View pictures to help identify.

Timing is also important.  Attack certain weeds too early or too late and your effect will be minimal.

MSU lets us know exactly when to expect to see the emergence of different pests and weeds, such as crabgrass, and when to most effectively prevent them.
