Happy to see that HOPE COLLEGE in Holland is the only Michigan learning center to receive a grant to help students embrace science.

It's a four-year, $1 million grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.  Hope College will use the money to create new ways to educate students in science fields.

Howard Hughes Medical Institute received grant applications from 215 colleges and universities.   The awards range from $800,000 to $1.5 million.  Hope was selected as one of 11 colleges that are "among the best in the country at producing graduates who go on to science careers."

Hope College has received grants from HHMI in 1991, 1996, 2004 and 2008.
