Harry Lennix, Mali Music Unveil Trailer for ‘Revival! The Experience’ Musical [Video]

Actor, writer and producer Harry Lennix and singer-songwriter Mali Music have unveiled the trailer for the Jesus Christ-focused, gospel music-inspired movie "Revival! The Experience."

Scheduled for release later this year, the film tells the story of the gospel according to John the Apostle, and stars Music as Jesus Christ and Lennix as Pontius Pilate with Chaka Khan also in the cast.

Lennix plays FBI director Harold Cooper in NBC's "The Blacklist" and has had roles in movies "Man of Steel" and "The Matrix" series. Music is a double Grammy Award nominee this year for his album "Mali Is" and his song "I Believe." Khan is a 10-time Grammy Award winner.

Directed by Obba Babatunde ("Miss Evers' Boys" and "Introducing Dorothy Dandridge") and Danny Green ("Mr. Sophistication") with a screenplay by Lennix and Holly Carter ("Preachers of L.A."), the film presents a dramatization with original contemporary and gospel music recounting the mission, ministry and miracles of Jesus Chris.

"'Revival!' is a project that has lived in my heart for many years. It espouses a message of love and courage, something that can help comfort all of us as we process the chaos of daily life," Lennix said.

Carter said: "It offers an incredible biblical and musical experience for audiences yearning for more inspirational storytelling," added Holly Carter.

Besides Lennix, Music, Khan and Babatune, the production also features Grammy Award winner Michelle Williams, Victoria Platt, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Noel Gugliemi, T'Keyah Crystal Keymah, Dawnn Lewis, Brely Evans, Bob Wisdom and gospel superstar William Murphy III.

Lennix, Carter and David C. Waite are producing through their Xponent Media, Releve Entertainment and Jupiter Films banners, respectively. Steve Harris and Keymah are executive producing.
