Last week, Grand Valley State University announced that construction has begun on a new video board at Lubbers Stadium.

The new board will be 40 feet tall and 72.5 feet wide, making it nine times bigger than the last video board.

The new board will be the largest in Division II and the 40th largest college video board in the country. The new video board will be ready for this fall's home opener against Tiffin University.

"Grand Valley State is extremely excited to bring a new visual enhancement to Lubbers Stadium that will help provide our great fans with a special game day experience," said GVSU Director of Athletics Tim Selgo. "The capabilities and the high-definition imagery of the new video board system will only enhance what is already an incredible game atmosphere."

  • 977,408 pixels
  • Resolution six percent greater than HDTV
  • Refresh rate 24,000 Hz
  • Brightness 9,000 lumens
