Grand Valley State University Is Taking HIGHER Education To The Next Level
Grand Valley State University located in Allendale, Michigan has been a place of higher learning since 1960.

Grand Valley State University Cannabis Curriculum Expanding
Grand Valley State University Is expanding its Hospitality and Tourism Management program and will offer more courses for students to take to earn a specialized badge, certificate or minor in cannabis operations.
In 2019 a course was first offered at GVSU to students to learn about cannabis regulations and tourism. Now because of growing interest, the course is expanding this fall. Affiliate professor John Lipford told Wood TV 8
I proposed to my colleagues in hospitality and tourism management a proposal based on a course for cannabis regulations and tourism. At the time it was the first course in the U.S. that was focused on cannabis tourism as a burgeoning industry and as a growth sector to the cannabis industry itself,” Once that was offered, I mean, it filled within a week 40 students from all different disciplines at the university.
The Cannabis Bussiness Is Booming In Michigan
It makes sense that GVSU is expanding its cannabis curriculum. Currently, 19 U.S. states allow for the use of recreational cannabis and that number is likely to grow in the coming years. The Michigan Cannabis Industry Association reported that companies had $1.79 billion in marijuana sales in 2021 which created $350 million in tax revenue for the state.
