Boy, did we get hit with snow. At least a foot or more, nearly two feet in Muskegon, fell Saturday and Sunday. Driving was a mess.

Every year, for whatever reason, our brains go dark and we forget how to drive in winter-like weather, snow, ice, high winds, everything. Come on, we just drove in winter-like weather earlier this year, but noooooo, we have absolutely no memory of that!

So, I'm here to help with some winter driving reminders that might help you.

From a very helpful Reddit.com/Grand Rapids post:

  1. To save your car battery leave the lights off before six at night. If you get stranded you will appreciate the added battery life while charging your phone!

  2. Speaking of phones, keep yours in one of your hands while you drive! This way you can keep up to date on traffic conditions and also be able to immediately call for help if you get in trouble. Be sure to text your friends and family to keep them updated!

  3. Try to drive as close to the car in front of you as possible. This will prevent your headlights from interfering with the other drivers mirror reflections.

  4. With the longer commute times, no need to clear the top of your vehicle of snow. Mother Nature put the snow there and she will remove it when she feels like it!

  5. Four Wheel Drive = Four Wheel Stop! Rev those trucks up ladies and gentlemen!

And, one other I thought of...

6. For heaven's sake, don't use your turn signal. That crazy blinking light could bother other drivers!

What do you think? Good? Seriously?
