Every year Grand Rapids gets in the holiday spirit with the Santa Parade in Downtown Grand Rapids. While COVID-19 has affected most people's holiday plans doesn't mean the spirit is gone.

The Grand Rapids Jaycees say the Santa Parade is still a go for 2020 but it'll be a little different this year or as they described it on their Facebook page... a "reverse parade" meaning it'll be a drive-by event.

Our entrants will park on Wealthy, between Indiana and Garfield and the public will be able to drive by in their cars.

Since there will be no walking or standing allowed, parade viewers are encouraged to get in on the fun and decorate their cars. You must stay in your car the entire time.

The Santa Parade is scheduled for Saturday, November 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  in Downtown Grand Rapids. Stay up-to-date on the Facebook event page.

If you are part of an organization and are interested in being a part of the parade you can fill out an application here. Some of the entrants include music groups, dancers, animal groups, and floats. A few examples of decorations to use for those participating: lights, trees, blow-up decorations, costumes, ribbons, flowers, etc.
