Two Grand Rapids museums are working to help the victimes of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy. The Grand Rapids Children's Museum and the Grand Rapids Art Museum are both giving a portion of their admission proceeds this Saturday to help build a museum in Newtown.

On Saturday, $1 of every admission into the museums will be donated toward The Ever Wonder Children's Museum in Newtown, Connecticut.

The Ever Wonder Museum is a new installation in Newtown, and Grand Rapids wanted to raise money for the group.

According to FOX-17, the idea came from one of the children of a board director at GR's Children's Museum who said they wanted to help the grieving kids of Newtown.

The Grand Rapids Public Museum is also helping out by putting a collection basket out for those who want to donate. There will also be a place to donate extra money for anyone who comes into the other museums.
