Disgusting! Some in Michigan May Lose Their Health Insurance!
It certainly is a scary thought, losing your health care insurance. What is one to do?
We are all aware of the proposed Medicaid cuts that may affect more that 200,000 people and hospitals in Michigan.
Michigan Advance.com reported that "Medicaid provides health insurance coverage to approximately a quarter of Michigan’s more than ten million residents and has taken on a larger role over the past two decades."
But since Medicaid payments are typically lower that other health care programs, doctors and hospitals are reluctant to accept new Medicaid patients. With the looming massive cut in the federal program, there doesn't seem to be anything "healthy" on the horizon.

And now, there seems to be another dark cloudy looming in Michigan health care.
Fox17 reported that roughly 30,000 people who have United Insurance in the Kalamazoo area use Bronson Healthcare, and those people could soon be without in-network coverage.
The Bronson administration says that they and United Health Care are still negotiating but nothing has been worked out. So, a large portion of folks could be on the brink of losing coverage including "employer-sponsored and individual commercial plans, Medicare Advantage plans including group retiree and dual special needs plans, and United Health Care community plans in Michigan," Fox17 reports.
Here in the Greater Grand Rapids area health insurance and relationships between insurance companies and health providers, hospitals, doctors and staffs, seems to be in pretty good shape. Yes, it's costing many dollars, but all our systems are strong. and people are able to get good coverage.
There always is hope, and right now we need a lot of that!
