If you are a golfer you already know the joy of fall golf. Not only are the courses in tip top shape, the weather is usually not to hot and not to cold, but just right.

The other big benefit is the fall color. The color around most courses is spectacular, and I think especially this year. If you have taken a drive up north this early fall you'll have to admit it has been a great fall for gorgeous color.

Golf Digest thinks so too, that is about golf courses around the country. Their panel of experts picked the best courses around for spectacular color, and guess what? Two of the top ten are here in Michigan!

BOYNE HIGHLANDS ARTHUR HILLS COURSE

The Arthur Hill course at Boyne Highlands rated tops on their list. Golf Digest said:

"The Arthur Hills course may be the most player-friendly of the four layouts at The Highlands, with forgiving fairways and large greens. That said, there are some demanding shots, including the approaches to several small, elevated greens. There are plenty of elevation changes, including some dramatic downhill tee shots which offer beautiful vistas of the northern Michigan landscape."

Then they chose courses in Virginia, Maine, New Hampshire, Washington, Missouri, and Vermont, but said there was one more gorgeous course in the United States for fall color, and that was, again, in Michigan, Treetops!

TREETOPS MASTERPIECE GOLF COURSE

They went on to say about Treetops:

"The Masterpiece course is considered the most difficult of the four 18-hole layouts (and one nine-hole course) at Treetops Resort. The scenic northern Michigan layout features plenty of elevation changes as well as deep ravines, water hazards and undulating greens."

Even if you're not a golfer, it's worth the drive to enjoy Mother Nature at her best in Michigan!
