Basketball fans are in for a treat in Grand Rapids coming up later this month.

If you haven't been to a Grand Rapids Gold game, you're honestly missing out on one of the most fun things you can do while the weather is less than friendly outside. And if you catch yourself thinking "I'm not much of a basketball fan", that's okay. You can find plenty of fun to be found with their various theme nights. (My favorite is the Star Wars night, personally)

But outside of the theme nights, the Grand Rapids Gold have had a very unique season due to the complications of COVID. We've not only had players leave the team to head to the NBA, we're having a few come back to visit.

According to a release from The Gold, "The Grand Rapids Gold have reacquired Isaiah Thomas. The NBA Veteran will return to the Gold following the All-Star break, playing February 23, February 24, and February 26. Isaiah Thomas scored 42 points in his debut with the Gold on December 16, earning an immediate NBA call-up from the Lakers. The February 24 matchup will be in Grand Rapids against the Maine Celtics. Isaiah Thomas isn't the first NBA player to visit the Deltaplex to play a few rounds, earlier this season Mario Chalmers came out of retirement from his time with the Miami Heat to play in West Michigan.

If you're interested in seeing a little taste of the NBA right here in Grand Rapids, tickets are currently available and you can get them here.
