West Michigan drivers could soon see some relief at the pump.

The price of crude oil tumbled nearly $5 per barrel Thursday after 28 countries pledged to release more oil from their strategic reserves.  Half of the more than 60-million barrels is coming from the United States.

WZZM TV13 reports that local analyst Patrick DeHaan with gasbuddy.com says the larger supply could drive local gas prices down to $3.39 within the next week and as low as $3.29 a gallon by July 4th.

Now, if we can keep the speculators, who have been driving the price of oil up, out of the market, we might really see lower prices.

One can only hope!
