Gamrat-Courser Sex Scandal and Cover-Up on 20/20 This Friday

This past summer's sex scandal between Michigan Legislators Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat will be featured on ABC's 20/20 this Friday, Jan. 22.

"Friday: the scandal and the secret tapes... Two former lovers at the center of one shocking affair face 20/20's cameras," the show promo promises.

Gamrat and Courser were expelled from their seats in September 2015 and were defeated in November when they attempted to run again.

The Republican state representatives admitted to having an an affair and to misusing taxpayer money.

Courser admitted to attempting to cover the affair with Gamrat by faking emails claiming he was caught with a male prostitute.

According to WZZM-13, ABC News correspondent Gio Benitez, who did the hour-long report, says the episode is explosive and emotional:

"You're going to see two people who are totally forthcoming about what they did."

Benitez also talked to several journalists and former legislative aids.

The episode airs at 10p.m. Friday.
