GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - There are a lot of ideas out there - and Rick DeVos wants to put them to work.
The founder of the ArtPrize competition today announced a new project - 5x5 Night. In it, people with ideas about art projects, business plans or community events present them to a panel of judges. The judges then decide which idea (or ideas) will win up to $5,000.
The first 5x5 Night will occur February 22, 2011 at the Grand Rapids Art Museum. After the presentations, participants will move to the Reserve Wine Bar for drinks, conversation and the announcement of the evening's winner or winners.
DeVos said 5x5 Night, like Artprize, "is really about the conversation...the first hour is a primer, the second hour is when people connect to other people and their ideas."
5x5 is hosted by Pomegrante Studios, a business incubator DeVos chairs.
DeVos is the grandson of Rich DeVos, a co-founder of the Amway Corporation.
