Metro Health has announced that they will be doing FREE Mobile COVID19 testing. As we know, testing, testing, testing is the thing, and with their new mobile initiative, they hope to reach underserved parts of West Michigan’s community.

Fox17 reports that they will be setting up mobile test sites in the Southeast and Southwest sides of Grand Rapids. The locations include:

Hispanic Center of West Michigan, 1204 Grandville Ave SW, Grand Rapids

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. each week, beginning June 8
United Methodist Community House, 904 Sheldon Ave SE, Grand Rapids

Tuesdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. each week, beginning June 15.

Metro Health also offers free COVID-19 drive up testing at the Metro Health Community Clinic located at 781 36th Street SE, Grand Rapids.

The startling facts are that 40 percent of COVID-19 deaths are African American despite being just 14 percent of the population. The reasons include underlying health conditions, occupational environment and living situations. With proper testing they hope to identify people who test positive and get them the medical help needed to assist in their recovery.
