On Monday, shoppers of Forever 21 found out that the fashion retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and that 178 stores in the U.S. would be affected. Court documents filed on Tuesday show a list of those stores.

On that list are five Michigan locations including the only two in West Michigan:

  • Great Lakes Crossing, Auburn Hills
  • Macomb Mall, Roseville
  • Tanger Grand Rapids, Byron Center
  • Twelve Oaks Mall, Novi
  • Woodland Mall, Grand Rapids

According to USA Today, there's a chance that not all of the stores will close as the company will try and renegotiate leases & rents. However, if a deal isn't reached a good chunk of them could close before the year is over. The listed locations are some of their most unprofitable stores.

During the restructuring, Forever 21 will operate as normal and continue to accept gift cards & honor returns and exchanges.

The company's home state of California consists of the majority of closures in the U.S. The retailer plans on closing 350 stores worldwide.
