There is a major food recall from the FDA, Food and Drug Administration, and it's nothing to sneeze at. Nearly 2,000 products are in the recall due to animal waste contamination. Yuck!

The products are bigtime products including food, cosmetics, drugs, and more, and it's scary.

WHAT'S UP?

According to the website Health.com, the FDA said:

"Gold Star Distribution, Inc. initially recalled the items—including food, cosmetics, drugs, and more—in late December because they were being held in a facility with "insanitary conditions" from rodent waste and bird droppings."

Okay, that's disgusting!

The FDA went on to say:

"Consuming these products poses serious health risks, such as Salmonella infections, though no illnesses have been reported to date. In January, the FDA gave the recall the second-highest risk level, Class II, which means the risk of severe health effects is low, but there is a possibility of temporary or reversible consequences."

You can access the full list of products and stores HERE, but just to give you an idea how big this is, the products include Diet Coke, Arizona Iced Tea, Hershey's, Reese's, M&M's, Pringles, Chex Mix, Cheerios, Kraft Mac & Cheese, Tylenol, NyQuil, Tums, Colgate, Crest, Purina Dog Food, and Meow Mix just to name a few.

WHAT CAN I DO NOW?

This is so scary, but, there is some good news here. Apparently, none of these products were distributed and sold in Michigan. However, they were distributed and sold in Indiana, Minnesota, and North Dakota. Indiana is too close for comfort, so I would be checking my products and if you have any on the list get rid of them immediately!
