Detroit Tiger Recreates Hillary Clinton Campaign on the Baseball Field
Sometimes poor execution of fundamentals can help your opponent have greater successes than expected.
Are we talking about Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign or Mikie Mahtook's play on the baseball field?
Maybe both.
Hillary Clinton was ahead in the polls last fall. She was expected to win the election. Her loss to Trump was a "monumental upset." There are many reasons for the end result, but many feel the Clinton campaign was poorly run and inadvertently helped her opponent at times.
It's kind of like what happened to Detroit Tiger Mikie Mahtook this week.
Mahtook inadvertently helped his opponent by knocking a ball over the fence to complete a home run.
Oops. At least no one is questioning his effort.
The similarities don't stop there.
Confidence is a good thing. Sometimes you just know things are going to work out as you planned. You're positive...but then it doesn't.
Clinton autographed a Newsweek "Madam President" edition backstage after a campaign rally on November 7, 2016 in Pittsburgh.
Oops.
Mahtook had a premature celebration of his own after hitting a ball which appeared to be heading over the fence only to be caught by Alex Gordon (aka Donald Trump) for an out.
Watch the video to see Mahtook high-fiving the first base coach a fraction of a second before realizing he is out.
