May is Better Hearing and Speech month, and the organization that is spearheading the effort to provide help and assistance to all with hearing difficulties, is the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Association.

It take a lot of money to run the organization and meet the needs here in West Michigan, so tomorrow night, Saturday, May 18th, they're sponsoring "Mayfest."  From 6 to 9 p.m., at McFadden's Restaurant and Saloon, downtown at 58 Ionia, it will be a wonderful celebration and party.  For only $40 you'll have local Michigan beers and wines, fresh from the farm appetizers and desserts, together with a silent auction with some fabulous items.  And, if that's not enough, the evenings host will be Tom Rademacher, newspaper columnist and author.

Proceeds from the event will help to provide hearing aids and adaptive equipment for low-income families in Kent County.

You can get tickets by calling David Overeem at 616-732-7358, by emailing to dovereem@deafhhs.org, and at the door.
