Confirmed COVID-19 Cases in Michigan Nearly 11,000

An update from the Michigan Department of Health Thursday afternoon says that there are now 10,791 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Michigan.

417 people have died from COVID-19 in Michigan, including two in Kent County, two in Muskegon County, and one in Kalamazoo County.

(For reference, Italy's population is roughly six times that of Michigan. Italy is also about twice the size of the state of Michigan.)

Earlier on Thursday, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer issued Executive Order 2020-35, which ended face-to-face classes in all K-12 schools in Michigan for the remainder of the school year.

Michigan is currently under a "Stay Home, Stay Safe" order until at least April 13, 2020.
