We all have different ways to planning when and how to get gas. Some of us love to fill up after pay day, others like to start the week with a full tank. And while you may think it makes no difference what day or what part of town you fill up, but you'd be surprised.

Gas is currently 50% more expensive than it was a year ago, and experts are predicting that we may see upwards of $4 a gallon by this summer. If you're on a budget, that can make a big difference.

The website Gas Buddy recently released numbers showing what days of the week you're most likely to save money at the pump, and they found that Monday is the best  day of the week to fill up.

But it's not just the day of the week you fill up that matters, I've recently noticed that the area of West Michigan you're in can save you upwards of .20 a gallon. In fact, as of publishing this article, the cheapest area to fill up is in Holland.

As for Grand Rapids? It appears that most of the gas prices tend to rise the further north you move. According to Autoblog, you'll find the best deals near Allendale and Alpine Township.

So while it seems to be a smart move to get a membership at Sam's Club or Costco to save money, it appears the cheapest prices in West Michigan don't require a membership fee.
