Celebration Cinema Downtown!

Loving this.

News today that Celebration Cinema will probably be building a theater downtown.  It'll be at Oakes and Ionia behind the arena. 

The DDA approved an option that will sell that parking lot to "Jackson Entertainment LLC" which owns the theater chain. 

This theater will have 6-8 screens, restaurants and retail shops.  Steve VanWagoner, VP of Marketing, says they're probably a few years out but have already started conceptualizing the theater. 

It reminds me of another city that I love just like GR ... Wichita, Kansas.  The entertainment district is called "Old Town" and the Warren Theater company had the "Warren Old Town Theater + Grille" in the heart of it.  In a few of their theaters, you could sit down and order a full meal from a server; then the food would be delivered as you watched the movie. 

What do you think about having a Celebration Cinema downtown?  I LOVE the idea!
