Many of you know I am a big child advocate. Children are our future, and our future needs to be protected and encouraged. I have been serving on the board of CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, who's volunteers advocate and assist abused and neglected children in Kent County.

CASA of Kent County is having a special evening, Tuesday, October 18 at Watermark Country Club, and I am hoping that many of you will decide to join us.

It will be a fun evening as you enjoy cocktails and a strolling dinner and learn more about the children we serve and how you can help write new and triumphant chapters in the lives of the abused and neglected children in our community.

And, yes, there is one more thing. I am very humbled and honored to be the recipient of the Inaugural Heart of CASA Award to be presented that evening.

Will you join me in celebrating children?
