Body Found in Lansing Manhole

Police are investigating after a public service employee found a body inside a manhole on the south side of Lansing Tuesday morning.

The Lansing State Journal reports that the worker discovered the body at 10a.m. while doing a routine sewer check near the intersection of Herbert and Wilson streets.

According to police, the body is in advanced state of decomposition and will be sent to medical examiner once extracted.

WLNS reports that Lansing Police are calling the death suspicious.
