Be Part of “Life in a Day”
How would you like to be a part of a historic global documentary that is be produced by Ridley Scott? Well here is your chance...
All you have to do is on Saturday, July 25th, 2020, film your day and upload your footage. If your video is selected, and you may become part of a historic documentary that is being made as a time capsule of the year 2020.
Anyone can participate. Video submissions from all over the world will be edited together to create a feature film, produced by Ridley Scott, directed by Kevin Macdonald, filmed by you, and premiering at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival.
You can start submitting your videos on July 25th. The last day for submissions will be Sunday, August 2nd.
Taking part is pretty simple: On Saturday, July 25th, grab your camera or smartphone and record your day. It could be a typical day for you with things like going to work, or spending time with family and friends. Or perhaps the 25th of July is a special day for you. Maybe it's your wedding day, a life changing event is happening, or you have important news to share with others. The video could be focused on how you are dealing with the coronavirus or something you’re fighting for.
If you don't want to be in the video, you could choose to record someone that you find interesting and spend the day capturing their actions on July 25th.
The producers would also like you to show or tell them the answers to these four questions:
- What do you love?
- What do you fear?
- What would you like to change? Either about the world, or your own life.
- What’s in your pocket?
According to the "Life in a Day" website: "The most important thing is to make it personal. Share what matters to you. This is your film."
There are also some filming requirements. Things like release forms are needed and no licensed materials (logos, music, etc.) can be inlcluded in the film. You can read about those details here.
If your footage is used in the final film, you will be contacted later in the year.
How cool would it be for a video from west Michigan to be included in this project! Get those cameras ready for Saturday, July 25th!
