Think you'd like to make a TV commercial?

Get your cameras ready. The Grand Rapids Public Museum (GRPM) announced today that it’s now accepting entries for their Pirate Parody Commercial Contest. The contest is open now through February 9, 2015.

Using the GRPM’s promotional commercials for the Real Pirates exhibition as inspiration, the Pirate Parody Commercial Contest asks anyone interested to create their own original commercial between 15 and 45 seconds, that includes a pirate theme in some way. The GRPM’s pirate commercials can be found on their YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/GRMuseum.

Entries can be submitted by emailing printern@grpm.org or by uploading videos to Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag #PiratesGR.

Winners will be chosen by public vote on the GRPM’s YouTube account on a specific channel called “Pirate Commercial Playlist.” Voting will take place February 11 through February 17, and the winner announced on the Museum’s social media platforms on February 20.

Prizes include a family 4 pack of tickets to see Real Pirates – an exciting blockbuster exhibition currently at the GRPM, GRPM Pirate Store merchandise, GRPM’s Curiosity Shop merchandise and more! One entry per participant or group.
