Tickets are available now for ArtPrize OnScreen: Presented by Waterfront Film Festival.

The impact of film at ArtPrize is growing and ArtPrize OnScreen is the biggest part of that trend.

Waterfront Film Festival is bringing 22 films to ArtPrize. There are seven narrative features, five full-length documentaries and 10 short films. Many have Michigan ties.

ArtPrize OnScreen will be held during the first weekend of ArtPrize, September 25 - 27. Most films will be shown at the Ladies Literary Club at 61 Sheldon Blvd SE.

Film Patron and VIP passes are now available and allow early entry to films, as well as access to the festival’s Afterglow parties, the weekend-long celebration in Waterfront’s hospitality tent on Sheldon Ave SE and invitations to future exclusive screenings and events.

“The Waterfront Film organization is dedicated to the collaboration with ArtPrize to raise the profile of the cinematic arts in Grand Rapids during ArtPrize,” Waterfront Film Cofounder Hopwood DePree said. “We aim to expand the film program in the coming years and look forward to a long-term partnership.”

Celebrity guests at the inaugural ArtPrize OnScreen include:

  • BooBoo Stewart, known for his roles in the “The Twilight Saga” andDisney’s recent production, “Descendents”, who will be in Grand Rapidsin support of his film “Honeyglue”, in its Midwest Premiere at 8PM on Friday, September 25. As a musician, Stewart has toured with Miley Cyrus and The Jonas Brothers.
  • Perrey Reeves, best known for her role as Mrs. Ari in “Entourage” willattend ArtPrize OnScreen with her short film “Dissonance”, which screens during the Saturday Shorts Program at 2PM on September 26.
  • Rodrigo Garcia, an accomplished writer, director and producer, will attend the Michigan Premiere of “Last Days in the Desert” starring Ewan McGregor, to show at 8PM on September 26.

Audiences will vote on the best films in three categories: Best Feature, Best Documentary and Best Short Film. Films will also be eligible for other ArtPrize awards.
