Michigan is the fifth most obese state in the United States.

Data gathered by U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says Michigan is one of 12 states with an obesity rate of over 30%.  Michigan's obesity rate is reported at 31.3%.

Obesity is a national problem.  Even our least obese state, Colorado, has an obesity rate of 20%.  Mississippi ranks the worst at 35%.
