An Immersive Vincent Van Gogh Art Exhibit is Coming to Grand Rapids [PHOTOS]
Soon West Michigan residents and visitors will be able to experience in 3-D the work of one of the most famous artists in history.
"Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience" is coming to Grand Rapids!
I've heard how cool these immersive Vincent Van Gogh exhibits are, so I'm excited we'll be able to walk through one in Grand Rapids!
What Can You Expect at "Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience" ?
According to a release from Business Wire, "Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience", which has sold more than 2.5 million tickets worldwide, was created by French-Canadian Creative Director Mathieu St-Arnaud and his team at Montreal’s Normal Studio.
At "Beyond Van Gogh" you'll be able to experience more than 300 of his iconic artworks by walking rough a "three-dimensional world that exhilarates the senses". The famous paintings like "The Starry Night”, “Sunflowers”, and “Café Terrace at Night”, are freed from their frames in this multi-media experience.
You'll hear Van Gogh's own dreams, thoughts, and words, plus an original score "as you move along projection-swathed walls wrapped in light and color that swirls and dances as it refocuses into the flowers, cafes and landscapes of his famous artworks."
Organizers say your visit to Beyond Van Gogh will take around one hour, with final entry one hour before close. You can find information on the exhibit's COVID-19 safety measures here.
If you're wondering if this is an adult-only type of thing, or if kids can come, organizers say babies and children of all ages are welcome to attend the show - and, kids four and younger are free!
To give you an idea what you can expect, here's a video from the exhibition's stop in Ottawa, Canada.
