This summer, one of the movies recently shot in Grand Rapids will be released, "30 Minutes Or Less."  Exciting, right?  It will be fun to see how it turned out...how Grand Rapids looks, with a lingering hope that more may be filmed here one day.

John Serba of the Grand Rapids Press says it's not too much of a leap to assume that "30 Minutes," which features Oscar-nominated actor Jesse Eisenberg and hot stand-up comic/"Parks and Recreation" star Aziz Ansari, will end up being the best movie filmed in Grand Rapids during the heyday of the film tax incentive.
GR's track record to this point includes four low-budget films starring 50 Cent (including "Gun" and "Caught in the Crossfire") and "The Chaos Experiment," which, to say it wasn't well-received is an understatement.
That being said, the opening of the "30 Minutes" trailer seems a little bit comedically awkward. But the bits in the school and with Ansari spray-painting the fake guns? Genuine laughter there.
We'll see if co-star Danny McBride can rebound from the critical drubbing he received for "Your Highness" - and the same goes for Nick Swardson, who supported Adam Sandler in the dreadful "Just Go With It." McBride and Swardson play two-bit simpleton crooks strapping a bomb to Eisenberg, and forcing him to hold up a bank.

Take a look.  It's fun!
