Events scheduled for the first quarter of 2021 are starting to drop quickly. The latest casualty of the virus is the Winter Beer Festival in Comstock Park.

Put away your old school snowmobile suit and your pretzel necklaces. The annual Winter Beer Festival has thrown in the keg for February 27.

The event, which takes place at Fifth Third Park, has been forced to cancel due to the coronavirus.

The Michigan Brewers Guild announced the cancelation by blocking out their link to it on their web page. They will try again next winter.

The group addressed the issue in more depth on their Facebook feed, writing:

In the interest of health and safety in the continued wake of COVID-19, the Michigan Brewers Guild has made the sad decision to cancel its upcoming Winter Beer Festival scheduled for Saturday, February 27 at Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park.
While this is yet another disappointment, with the new vaccines now being administered, we are looking forward to a more normal year later in 2021.We thank you for your understanding and wish all of you a safe, healthy and Happy New Year!
