Recently, GOP House candidate, Robert "RJ" Regan, made comments during a sponsored video that drew harsh backlash with constituents and party leaders including the Mayor of Walker, Gary Carey Jr.

The GOP politician said he tells his daughters to “lie back and enjoy it” if rape is inevitable.

In response to Regan's words, the City of Walker Mayor, Gary Carey Jr., posted to Facebook.

The Mayor of Walker's Facebook post has generated a lot of comments. Some are calling for Regan's removal.

"There are so many great choices in this district (City of Walker Mayor Gary Carey Jr. and E.J. Johnson included). Regan has showed his bias and incompetence; he must be expelled from the GOP."

The commissioner for Walker added,

"As a woman, a Mother, a daughter, a sister, and friend of many women, I find Robert Regan’s comment(s) insulting, and disgusting. How insensitive and shameful."

Robert “RJ” Regan, who won the GOP special primary in the state’s 74th district was discussing how to decertify the 2020 presidential election during a Facebook Live broadcast for the Republican group Rescue Michigan Coalition when he made the comment.
