It's just off of North Beacon in Grand Haven and has become a tourist attraction. Not that Grand Haven needs more tourist attractions, but there it sits, so to speak - a pothole that's big enough for a chair to fit into it.

It's a pretty hysterical sight because, as Fox17 reported, it all began with someone putting a leather recliner in the pothole. That's some big pothole. Now, a traditional blue chair sits inside the pothole.

To make things even more comical, the now famous pothole was a sort of "living room scene" sprouting up complete with a Christmas tree, speakers, and flooring.

So what happened and how did this all evolve? Cory Denny, who works near where the pothole can be found, posted to local Facebook group Grand Haven Informed. He had been on his way to lunch and saw the black leather chair in the hole, so to Facebook he went.

The pothole became famous with all the local folks, then spread around the lakeshore and began drawing people from Muskegon and Holland.

They all wanted their picture taken with the pothole.

It has become so famous that even Barbie had a pool party in the pothole.

Way too much fun, Cory says!

The fact that everyone is coming and taking pictures with it and now they have this whole living room setup, it just ... it makes me really happy. I never thought that anything like this would’ve happened.

But seriously folks, you do hope there will be a solution to this famed pothole.

I know that FOX 17 reached out to the City of Grand Haven Department of Public Works' street department for more information, but has yet to hear back, probably  because of the New Year's Day holiday.

There is a wrinkle to the problem. The famous pothole just happens to be on a privately owned road due to its proximity to a parking lot. So who fixes it?

Well, in the meantime, get your photos while they're hot. Say Cheese!
