The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will suspend construction on 114 of 155 active projects statewide for Labor Day weekend. See which 41 projects will continue to have traffic restrictions.

The yearly Grand Crossings Bridge Walk is set for Monday morning in downtown Grand Rapids. The walk will start at 8 a.m. at Ah-Nab-Awen Park at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum and will be led by Grand Rapids Mayor George Heartwell.

To make travel easier, the Michigan Department of Transportation will lift most road restrictions over Labor Day weekend, with 126 of 156 construction projects having lane restrictions lifted for the weekend. See which projects will remain active.

Bridge walks are a Labor Day tradition in Michigan. This year is the 57th annual at Mackinac Bridge. Grand Rapids is hosting a bridge walk too.

Summer is unoffically over and students are back in school. Summer lasts longer than it used to for many students.  Since 2006, Michigan law requires public schools to wait until after Labor Day to begin school. Should school start before or after Labor Day?
