It's time again  to Empty the Shelters in West Michigan!  Each year, tens of thousands of pets are abandoned or released to shelters in Michigan.  These animals are in desperate need of homes and families who will love them.  And now is the perfect time to help...

Pets are a huge part of any family, but this fall, many of them are homeless and living in animal shelters. These animals awaiting their forever home sure could use the our support with food, toys, and everyday living essentials for these pets in need. What do you think? Want to help?

Trudy Jeffers, Executive Director of the Humane Society of West Michigan, was on my morning show yesterday and mentioned that they had a record year in pet adoptions in 2015. WOW, was it ever. Congratulation!

We have a lot of four-legged visitors to our studios. Each week, the Humane Society of West Michigan brings in a 'way-too-cute' four-legged critter, dog, cat, bunny, etc., for our Wet Nose Wednesday segment. We talk about the pet, the needs of the Humane Society, and more, to encourage pet adoption.

The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development’s (MDARD) announced the Michigan Companion Animal Welfare Fund check-off will fund projects totaling more than $155,500 for 26 shelters this year, including the Humane Society of West Michigan.
