ArtPrize has announced a new partnership with Switch, the operator of SUPERNAP Grand Rapids at the Switch Pyramid, that will bring an interactive STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) educational experience to ArtPrize this fall.
ArtPrize gets people talking and asking "what is art?". This year's winner of ArtPrize Pitch Night Indianapolis is sure to be a part of that conversation.
"Triumphal Entry" by Kipp Normand was selected the winner in Indianapolis by five judges last night. Normand wins a $5,000 cash grant as well as a guaranteed spot in a prime location for ArtPrize Eight in Grand Rapids.

Today, ArtPrize announced this fall's competition will host a total of 1,554 artists representing 44 countries and 40 U.S. states with 1,453 entries.
Seed grant winners and a new crowdsourcing grant opportunity were also announced.
Artist registration closed on Thursday for ArtPrize Eight. At the close of the nearly eight week registration period, 2,124 artists or artist teams have registered 2,008 entries and hope to compete for awards totaling $500,000 this fall in Grand Rapids.
Today, ArtPrize announced they are extending artist registration for ArtPrize Eight by one week after St. Cecilia Music Center pulled out of this year's competition.
The new artist registration deadline is June 9 at 5PM. Connections are extended through June 23 at 5PM.
Artist Emily Lynch Victory was one of five finalists at the fourth annual ArtPrize Pitch Night Minneapolis event, held at the Walker Art Center. She won a $5,000 cash grant and a guaranteed spot on the seventh floor at 200 Ottawa in Grand Rapids during ArtPrize Eight.
There have been a handful of ArtPrize entries loved by both art professionals and the public over the years, Kate Gilmore's "Higher Ground" is one of those. The entry won the Juried Grand Prize at ArtPrize Seven.
The popular entry has had its pink siding removed.
Last night, ArtPrize announced the winner of Pitch Night Durham. Stacey Kirby's “The Declaration Project” / “VALIDnation” took home a $5,000 cash grant and a guaranteed spot at 200 Ottawa for ArtPrize Eight.
Kirby addresses North Carolina House Bill 2 and its effect on the community. Her entry asks people to declare their belongings or share their lifestyle choices to determine if they are valid.
Artists and venues have begun connecting for ArtPrize Eight in Grand Rapids.
Artist registration will continue through June 2 and the artist/venue connection period lasts through June 16, but we already have an early look at what to expect at ArtPrize.
