A thinking persons game on Ice? Rosa Parks Circle hosted the Ice Chess Battle Tuesday afternoon. The Ice pieces were made by Randy Finch and Ice Sculptures, LTD of Grand Rapids. Christmas break is over and college students all across Michigan are returning to the classroom.  The house is quiet now until May. Study hard children.  Make your parents proud.

On a cold day, there's nothing like some home-made soup to warm you up. My wife makes the best Tortellini Soup ever. It's so easy even I can make it.

This was a great day! I always have such fun with John, Frank and the whole darn family at John Russo's Wine Warehouse and Deli! So many facebook friends stopped by today to say hello. One nurse cornered me at the front of the store who read my post on facebook about taking a fall and knocking my head out on the pavement last night on a patch of ice.

West Michigan's American Idol Matt Giraud paid Kim Carson a visit Wednesday.  Matt updated us and sang a few songs live including, The Christmas Song and an original song.

Next to Santa Claus, children are the stars of the 67th annual Rockford Christmas Parade.   Saturday's event featured many holiday costumed brownie's, girl scouts, cub scouts and boy scouts.  Also featured were the Rockford High School Marching Band, the State Champion Girls Lacrosse team and, of course, Santa Claus.
