Fox 17 reported that the poet who took the stage yesterday on Inauguration Day is an old pro at ceremonial occasions, and she's only 22.

Amanda Gorman has written for everything from a July 4 celebration featuring the Boston Pops Orchestra to the inauguration at Harvard University for school president Larry Bacon.

She had said that she struggled to write her new work "The Hill We Climb." She said she was exhausted, and she worried she wasn’t up to the monumental task in front of her. She thought I'm just going to pass out. She pushed on and was able to write a few lines every day, and was about half finished when January 6 happened, the storming of the Capitol. Amanda said she that night she stayed awake nearly through the  night and finished the poem.
