Movie screen legend, Olivia de Havilland, is alive and kicking, and, is 100 years of age. That is mind blowing.

Famous for the role of Melanie in "Gone With the Wind," De Havilland went on to win two Oscars for "To Each His Own" in 1947 and for "The Heiress" in 1950. The actress is one of the last living remnants of Hollywood's Golden Age.

She was the sister of actress, Joan Fontaine, and it was always rumored that they had a terrible feud going. De Havilland said the 'legend of a feud' with her sister was first created by an article entitled Sister Act in Life Magazine following the 1942 Oscars, where both sisters were nominated for an Academy Award.

Fontaine, who was then the lesser known sister, won, for Suspicion while de Havilland had been nominated for Hold Back the Dawn.

For those of us who love old movies and stories of their making, here is a wonderful article I found on The Daily Mail website about Olivia.
