The Entertainment Book has long been a favorite fundraiser for schools and organizations.

Now, those fundraisers will have to be replaced with a new source of income.

The maker of the Entertainment Book has filed for bankruptcy.

The Entertainment Book offered coupons and discounts for almost any kind of business you can think of.

WZZM reports:

The Entertainment promotions company has been around for 50 years, but recently filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy. WZZM 13's partner the Detroit Free Press also reported that the company laid off hundreds of employees and closed its headquarters in Troy.

The Entertainment Book was a favorite fundraiser for my family.  You could help raise money by purchasing one, then get your money back in savings later.  We discovered a few new favorite restaurants and businesses by using those coupons too.

Schools and organizations will have no trouble finding new ways to raise money.  Other groups who help raise money are using the news of this bankruptcy to promote their own businesses.

Will you miss the Entertainment Book?
