On Wednesday, Meijer announced a number of new stores and remodels planned for 2013.

One of those stores is in West Michigan...Knapp's Corner.

There will be a total of 6 new stores and 5 remodels. Grbj.com explains:

The six new supercenters will be opened across Meijer's regional footprint: Swartz Creek and Detroit; Portage and Warsaw, Ind. and Danville and Evergreen Park, Ill. Each Meijer store opening represents at least 250 full-time and part-time jobs.

The Michigan remodel projects include the Knapp’s Corner location in Grand Rapids, as well as stores in Lansing, Flint and Taylor. The fifth location scheduled for remodeling is in Springfield, Ill.

On Facebook, Meijer called the Knapp's Corner remodel a " state-of-the-art design we're bringing to the Knapp's Corner Meijer. This design will influence the look of our new stores and future remodel projects as we continue to grow."

In total, the remodels and new locations are expected to create 1,500 new jobs.

Once the remodel is complete, the Knapp's Corner Meijer will feature wider aisles, a more convenient pharmacy drive thru, greater energy efficiency, and much more.  Learn about more of the changes to come and view some renderings of the future exterior below.
