The Grand Rapids TV market is losing another popular anchor, and it's another Sports Anchor.

WOOD-TV's Marlee Wierda has announced she is wrapping up her stint at TV8 and moving on.

In my opinion she has been a shining star in the Grand Rapids TV market, working with one of the best, Jack Doles. She's confident, knows her sports and always makes a "spot on" sports report every time.

So what's up and where is she moving on to? She's not saying just yet but one would have to assume it's a good move for her.

Marlee released this statement:

"These last two years were some of the most memorable of my career, so it's very bittersweet for me to announce my time at WOOD TV8 is coming to an end soon. A special thanks to my sports director, Jack Doles, who gave me this opportunity. It was a pleasure and an honor to learn from one of the most talented storytellers in the country. I also feel incredibly fortunate to have worked in this newsroom with some other amazing journalists and people. The opportunity to cover sports in West Michigan meant more than many of you know, and Grand Rapids will always have a special place in my heart. Until I officially say goodbye, we still have a lot of sports to talk about between now and then!! It will be a fun way to end this chapter, but I'm also very excited to share what's ahead."

Marlee, we wish you the best, and, we will all miss you.
